Advisory Committee

Mr. Anderson is responsible for directing the engineering activities of more than 80 loss prevention account engineers and boiler and machinery specialists in 26 Protection Mutual offices around the world.

Mr. Anderson coordinates engineering inspection, research, and training activities for Protection Mutual’s highly protected risk policyholders through Protection Mutual’s relationship with Factory Mutual Engineering and Research--the world leader in loss prevention engineering. Anderson serves on a number of executive committees for Protection Mutual and represents Protection Mutual on the engineering committee of the Factory Mutual System. This committee guides Factory Mutual’s development of technical standards for loss prevention inspections and research. Anderson has lectured extensively on the subject of loss prevention consulting and advances in the field of fire protection research.

Mr. Anderson began his career in loss prevention engineering with Factory Mutual Engineering and Research as a loss prevention consultant in the Milwaukee office. In 1979 he transferred to Protection Mutual’s Milwaukee district office as an account engineer. In 1981 he transferred to Protection Mutual’s Cleveland regional office as a senior account engineer and in 1990 he was promoted to regional engineering manager for Protection Mutual’s northern central region. In 1992 he was again promoted and moved to Protection Mutual’s home office in Park Ridge, Illinois to assume his current position.

Mr. Anderson also serves on the board of directors of TSB Loss Control Consultants, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Protection Mutual specializing in industrial emergency personnel training, and is an advisory committee member of the Civil Engineering Department of North Dakota State University.

Dennis and his wife, Melinda, have three children and live in Crystal Lake, Illinois.
