Dr. Ken Kellogg and Dr. Don Andersen, along with several civil engineering
students, helped the students weigh and test their towers under load.
The towers were inspected and weighed. Then they were loaded using buckets which
were filled with sand. Students poured scoops of sand into the bucket which was
hung from a rod through the center of the tower. Note the variety of tower
designs.
Students in grades 6-9 competed in this competition.
